Dart Big M Sportsman Big Block Chevy Cast Iron Bare Blocks

The foundation for a better big block build begins with Dart Big M Sportsman Big Block Chevy cast iron bare blocks. Dart engineered the Big M to be the strongest, most reliable, and easiest to build big blocks on the market.

The Dart Big M Sportsman blocks feature:

* Standard 9.800 in. and tall 10.200 in. deck heights available for Stroker engines
* Standard 4.250 in., 4.500 in., or 4.600 in. bore sizes with Siamesed extra thick cylinder walls to resist cracking and improve ring seal (minimum .300 in. thick with 4.625 in. bore)
* Uses +.300 in. tall Gen VI style lifters. Modifications for Gen IV style are also available
* Scalloped outer water jacket walls improve coolant flow around the cylinder barrels to equalize temperatures
* 4-bolt ductile iron main caps have splayed outer bolts for extra strength
* True priority main oil system lubricates the main bearings before the lifters
* Oil filter pad is drilled and tapped for an external oil pump
* Lifter valley head stud bosses prevent blown head gaskets
* Rear main cap uses standard oil pump and two-piece seal, no adapter required
* Mechanical fuel pump boss, clutch linkage mounts, and side and front motor mounts simplify installation in chassis
* Dual oil pan bolt patterns fit standard and notched oil pans
* Coated cam bearings, freeze plugs and dowels not included

Looking to make more power than a stock block can handle? This Dart LS SHP block comes machined by ATK to the same specs we use for every engine assembly we offer and has the cam bearings installed. It will be ready to assemble after checking clearances per your application. This block comes powder coated black as a free upgrade.

Designed for high performance and medium duty applications, the SHP LS Next Block is the ideal starting point for hot rodders, drag racers, circle track competitors, off-roaders and high performance marine enthusiasts.

FEATURES
Dart priority main oiling system with provisions for stock oil filter mounting.
Full skirt design.
Accepts factory and aftermarket oil pans.
Siamesed cylinder bores with thick walls.
Cylinder barrels extended 0.375″ at the bottom of the bores.

ATK is now offering a 100% New Bare Block. We introduced this block to the market a few years back and have thousands in the field. From stock replacements, high performance, marine and industrial use on CNG/LPG, these blocks have been proven. In the past ATK had offered something similar to this off a core block, it was extremely successful selling over 5000 machined blocks. Unfortunately, within the last 5 years the 350 core has become harder to find resulting in shutting down that program. To fill the void and keep up with the demand of the ever so popular 350 engine, we set out to cast our own block and once again offer it has a Machined Block ready to build off.

 

ATK blocks are stroker clearanced and will come with the cam bearings and brass freeze plugs installed.
